Safir – Welcome

 

Safir is an ambitious project supporting youth and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 9 countries across Northern Africa and the Middle East. Co-financed by the European Union, it will support more than 1,000 young project leaders involved in entrepreneurial projects with social, cultural and environmental impact, the development of a regional network of organisations supporting social entrepreneurship, and the creation of spaces for dialogue between youth and governmental authorities.

1000 young people will be supported in or from 9 countries: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya (diaspora), Morocco, Palestine, Syria (diaspora), Tunisia.

The project will work in collaboration with civil society organisations and incubators/accelerators serving youth of those countries. Applications are now open, and will close June 26, 2020.

Call for candidates for the attention of civil society organizations

The civil society organizations selected at the end of this call for projects will be in charge of the advocacy training offered within the framework of the Safir project. By applying, benefit from skills building sessions and participate in the creation of a regional advocacy guide for the achievement of the sustainable development objectives in the area

Call for applications for incubators

Safir invites you to join the first regional network of incubators in the North Africa – Middle East region. By participating in Safir, benefit from skills-building sessions to pool your methodologies and create a regional support guide for innovative entrepreneurship. The selected structures will also be in charge of supporting young project leaders.

Call for candidates for young people

Safir gives 1000 young people the opportunity to transform their societies by supporting their associative and entrepreneurial projects in favor of achieving the objectives of sustainable development. By participating in Safir, you benefit from personalized monitoring of your projects, free methodological support (ideation, incubation, acceleration with funding and / or advocacy training) and networking on a regional scale. You will defend your vision and your ambitions in national, regional and international discussion spaces and take advantage of networking dynamics to fully participate in decision-making processes.

Call for candidates for universities

More than 7 million young people from North Africa and the Middle East are students. In order to make them actors of the world of tomorrow, Safir offers universities in the region tailor-made technical and financial support to create or strengthen university incubators. Safir will also help to accentuate the role of universities in achieving the SDGs by organizing awareness campaigns and enriching their training offer in social and innovative entrepreneurship.
